Weekly Challenge

Have Some Fun

Sometimes we get so focused on what needs to be done that we forget that life is meant to be fun and enjoyed! Without fun, we become overwhelmed.

Fun looks different for each of us. What may be fun for you, may not be fun for someone else.

Your challenge this week is to spend at least 15 minutes everyday on something you think is fun. You will be amazed at the change of outlook on your life.

Really Listen

Being Valentine’s, this is the perfect week for this chapter. How many times do you have a conversation with someone and can’t remember a single thing they said. You were just waiting for them to finish so you could talk. Especially if you are in an argument and your thinking of your rebuttal instead of really hearing what the person is saying (even if it is the stupidest thing you ever heard.)
Here’s your challenge this week with the people you care about:
1. When your mind starts to wonder during a conversation, be intentional about bring your attention back.
2. If you are in a disagreement, really listen and repeat back to the person what you heard them say before you respond.
3. Finally tell the person what you really want. No one is a mind reader. If you want something special for Valentine’s Day, for goodness sake tell your spouse! Be general and let them pick it out. Example: I would like flowers, but he will pick the type of flowers. I would like you to cook dinner, and he decides the menu. There is still that specialness there without the disappointment.

You Cannot Improve With Taking it Easy

The way to improve yourself is to challenge yourself. Do something that you will probably not be good at right away. Push yourself to improve each time you do it.

This past week I started Insanity Asylum and let me tell you I am dying during the workouts. There is a ton of modifications and reducing reps to get through the workout. BUT I don’t give up and keep hitting okay the next day because it will get “easier” the more I do it. I am focused on maintaining a good heart rate and working to my level.
What’s one thing you will try this week?

Be an Instigator

Definition of Instigate:
bring about or initiate (an action or event)

This week I dare you to be the instigator in your life. Instigate a GOOD habit or routine. Start with something small like making your bed, parking farther away when you go somewhere, taking the stairs, adding veggies and fruits.
Continuous small changes add up and they don’t seem like a big leap at the time.
Be an instigator!!!

Don’t Start Worrying

Weekly Motto!
Just start on whatever your goal is. I can guarantee you will figure it out as you go. If you are afraid to fail, then you won’t succeed. Trying and failing still gets you closer than not trying at all.
Small steps everyday leads to big changes. Be persistent!
Be consistent!
Never Give Up!!

Commit to Your Why

This week is all about recommitting to WHY you want that goal. Why do you want to (insert your goal here)? In order to do this you really have to dig deep inside yourself. It has to be something that just by thinking about it you immediately become motivated again. Willingness to do something doesn’t matter anymore because it is a have to, no questions asked.
If it is important to you, you will make time. Make the time everyday to get one small step closer to your goal!

Work Harder on Yourself than Your Job

This week’s focus will be on coming back to what is important. I LOVE my job and that’s probably why it consumes so much of my time and energy. My life cannot be my job because the truth is I am replaceable to them. Yes I am valued, but I am valued more by God and my family. Spent a lot of time yesterday on perspective and setting up my week for success. Not work success, but personal success.
What are your core values? Write them down. How can you focus on those values this week? What actions can you take this week?

Conquer the Mountain

We all have “mountains” in our lives. It’s how you deal with that “mountain” shows what you are made of. Success is the small efforts repeated every day. Keeping a positive attitude in everything you do no matter how big or small. Finding the good. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the negativity of the world and join them. Don’t give in. You only have this life to live so make sure you live it how you want to live it. Not by what someone is telling you how to live it.

Wake Up Determined

The secret behind waking up determined so you can go to bed accomplished is planning and focusing on the right stuff. Focus on the things that matter versus trying to do a bunch of stuff that doesn’t need to be today.

We all have the same 24 hours in a day. It’s how you plan and spend that 24 hours that will have you either loving it or drowning in it. Everyone is different and you have to know your limits.

Start today by picking 1 or 2 must have tasks to be done today. Focus on getting those things done first. That’s how you succeed and feel success and accomplishment.

We all have a million things we want to do, but really think about what is the most important priorities for today and be realistic on how long it will take you.

Hope you all have a fantastic week!!
